Weekly update: As part of this summer training period, we are utilizing a high-tech software in the FYTT app. This software allows us to make decision trees based on our years of experience and modern findings of sport performance to guide the programming to make sure we are targeting the areas of growth that are most important for your athlete. Certain parts of their programming will adjust as we work through the summer – a program that is truly keeping up with your athlete’s progress! We are tracking the following tests in order to use the metrics listed with each test: Countermovement Jump: Jump Height, Peak Power, Net Propulsive ImpulseSprint Profiling: Detailed BelowHex Bar Deadlift: Estimated 1RMFront Squat: Estimated 1RMBench Press or DB Bench Press: Estimated 1RM, PowerBody Composition: % Body Fat, Skeletal Muscle Mass What is a KPI Report? The following links are to our summer athlete KPI reports. A KPI report simply gives an overview of our Key Performance Indicators (KPI). These KPI have been selected in order to be able to monitor a holistic approach to athletic development – not just strength alone. We have selected KPI that are consistent indicators of athletic outputs such as force production (strength), speed and power. Internally we use these metrics to guide your athlete’s programming by focusing their efforts on the most important areas for their athletic development. These metrics are also available through your athlete’s FYTT app under the “My Profile” menu. If you would like to remove your athlete from the team report, please let us know and we will gladly handle that. These reports are designed to be an added value and intended to provide transparency in our process. It is still early, so some of the data points may be incomplete for your athlete. For instance, an athlete may have a great start, but gets caught quickly. Another athlete may have a bad start but can make up for it down the stretch. Both athletes may run the same time on a 40 or 60-yard dash, but how do we know what area of their sprinting to focus on? The Sprint Profiling Assessment consists of laser timing gates that are set at the start line, another set at 10 yards, another at 20 yards and finally at 30 yards. The first 10 yards tells us about your athlete’s start technique, their strength and power output. 10-20 yards gives us insight into the athlete’s acceleration technique, power and elasticity (bounce). 20-30 yards tells us much more about the athlete’s “speed” and elasticity, and it informs us how quickly or slowly the athlete is getting to top speed.
