Week 1 of the Ankle Mobility Series: Kneeling Ankle Rockers
The ankle rocker is an exercise we employ as a re-education exercise to increase ankle mobility- specifically in dorsiflexion. Typically we do this before a workout so that we can work through a complete range of motion during the athlete’s training session. Dorsiflexion is vital in sprint and squat mechanics to ensure muscular recruitment and enhance force application. Watch as DST Sports Performance Specialist, Kevin Williams, takes you through the technique, common mistakes and gives tips on how to enhance the effectiveness of ankle rockers in your own program.
