Keep An Eye Out For These NFL DST Athletes
Football season is finally here! With the first official NFL weekend wrapping up tonight (featuring the hometown Houston Texans), we wanted to make sure the DST Family knows who to cheer for this season (outside of your fantasy roster & favorite team).
Khadarel Hodge – Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver
Khadarel Hodge joined the DST Family this past off-season. Khadarel played college football just up 290 at Prairie View A&M, where he garnered 1st Team All-SWAC his senior season (2017).
Khadarel signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Hodge saw limited snaps last year, but played an important role in special teams for the eventual NFC Champions.
Hodge performed at an extremely high level for the Rams this preseason at Wide Receiver. In the Rams’ four preseason games, he collected 11 catches for 178 yards – including a 5 catch, 76 yard performance against the Texans.
Despite an impressive tenure with Los Angeles, the team’s depth at the position led them to waive Hodge. His time without a team was very short as the Cleveland Browns immediately claimed him off waivers.
Hodge joins another potent wide receiving corps with the Browns, including All-Pros Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.
*Fun Fact: In addition to being a talented football player, Khadarel is also a model & one of the funniest guys you’ll come across. Follow him on social media to get to know the 2nd year veteran: Instagram | Twitter

Ufomba Kamalu – New England Patriots Defensive Line/Linebacker
Ufomba Kamalu has been a member of the DST family since 2017 after wrapping up his rookie season with the Houston Texans.
Since then, Kamalu has spent time with the Texans, Cardinals, and – most recently – the New England Patriots. Kamalu won a Super Bowl ring this past season as an integral part of the Patriots team.
Ufomba had a very productive 2019 preseason for New England. In 4 games, he posted 15 tackles (11 solo) as well as a very impressive sack against the Carolina Panthers.
Kamalu begins this season as a member of the practice squad for the Pats, but is likely to see some action in regular season games.
Fun Fact: Ufomba and his girlfriend, Anna, have two dogs – both named after cartoon characters – Nibbler (Futurama) & Courage (Courage the Cowardly Dog). Follow Ufomba on Social Media: Instagram | Twitter

Emeke Egbule – Los Angeles Chargers Linebacker
Emeke Egbule is the first-ever Combine-to-NFL athlete to come through DST. Joining DST in January of 2019, Emeke trained for the NFL Combine at DST with Sports Performance Specialist Kyle Kleeman.
Emeke played both his High School and College football here in Houston, Texas, at North Shore High School and the University of Houston, respectively.
Egbule was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers with the 200th overall pick (6th round) of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Emeke impressed this preseason tallying six solo tackles while being played in a variety of positions and defensive packages for the Chargers.
In Week 1 of the regular season, Emeke saw some time on defense as well as a number of special teams packages.
Fun Fact: Emeke garnered 1st team All-District honors on the offensive side of the ball as a Tight End his senior season at North Shore High School. Follow Emeke: Instagram | Twitter
